If you want to transfer a domain name from one company to another, you will have to go through a couple of security procedures. One of them is getting a special EPP authorization code from the current registrar company – on the condition that you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s email address and nobody else can obtain it. You will have to provide this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they will not be able to begin the domain transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily miswritten, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an extra safety measure, the transfer code for a domain name may be reset regularly. Certain domain registrars refer to this code as an Auth key, a domain secret or a domain password as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Website Hosting
If you have a cloud website hosting plans, you’ve registered a domain through us and you would like to transfer it, you can get its EPP authentication code with no more than several clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domains that you’ve registered with us displayed in alphabetical order. Next to each domain name, you will see a mini EPP icon for all generic and country-code TLD extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between registrars. Clicking the icon will email the code to the domain name registrant’s email address instantaneously. In the same section you can also see and ultimately edit the email, if the one there isn’t valid any longer.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with us, you will be able to get its EPP transfer authentication code with only a mouse click, in case you decide to transfer it to a different registrar. All it takes to achieve that is to sign in to your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, to visit the Registered Domains section and to click on the EPP button, which will be on the right-hand side of the domain name. Of course, such a button will be available only if the given top-level domain name extension supports transfers with an EPP transfer code. Within a minute, an email message that contains the code will be sent to the domain name registrant’s email address associated with that domain. You can update the latter via the very same Control Panel section – if the one that is presently listed in the WHOIS details is not a valid one. Since the update will propagate without delay, you can request the EPP code directly after that.
