DomainKeys Identified Mail
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) - discover more about it, what it does, what it does and how to enable it for your mailboxes.
DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is an email validation system used to prove that an e-mail has been sent by an authorized individual or mail server. An e-signature is attached to the email’s header by using a private encryption key. When the email is received, a public key that is available in the global Domain Name System is used to confirm who actually sent it and whether its content has been changed in some way. The fundamental function of DKIM is to avert the widely spread spam and scam emails, as it makes it impossible to forge an email address. If an email message is sent from an address claiming to belong to your bank, for example, but the signature doesn’t correspond, you will either not get the email at all, or you’ll receive it with a warning notification that most likely it’s not a legitimate one. It depends on email service providers what exactly will happen with an email message which fails the signature examination. DKIM will also provide you with an additional layer of protection when you communicate with your business associates, for example, since they can see for themselves that all the e-mail messages that you exchange are genuine and have not been manipulated on their way.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Cloud Website Hosting
When you purchase any of the
cloud website hosting plans that we are offering, the DomainKeys Identified Mail option will be enabled by default for any domain that you register under your shared website hosting account, so you will not need to set up any records or to enable anything manually. When a domain is added in the Hosted Domains section of our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel using our MX and NS resource records (so that the email messages related to this domain will be handled by our cloud platform), a private encryption key will be generated instantaneously on our mail servers and a TXT record with a public key will be sent to the DNS system. All email addresses created using this domain will be protected by DKIM, so if you send email messages such as regular newsletters, they will reach their target destination and the recipients will be sure that the messages are authentic, since the DKIM option makes it impossible for unauthorized parties to spoof your addresses.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Semi-dedicated Servers
When you opt for one of the
semi-dedicated plans that we offer, you will be able to use the DomainKeys Identified Mail option with any domain name that you add to your new semi-dedicated account without any manual setup, as our avant-garde cloud platform will create all the needed records automatically, on the condition that the domain name uses our name servers. The aforementioned is needed for a TXT resource record to be created for the domain, as this is how the public encryption key can become available in the global DNS system. The private key will also be added automatically to our mail servers, so anytime you send a new message, it will have our platform’s electronic signature. The number of junk email messages continues to increase every year and very frequently bogus email addresses are used, but when you make use of our hosting services, you and your customers or partners won’t have to bother about that.
